Flowonics Spares and Repairs

Flowonics provides a comprehensive spares service for their own and 'proprietary' components to ensure that customers are always able to maintain equipment. In addition Flowonics undertakes a wide range of repairs, often of a highly specialised nature and can undertake re-engineering or completely re-design existing components or systems to eliminate inherent faults that might lead to unreliability in service. Working with customers, Flowonics provides spares, repaired or re-engineered items to support a wide range of activites including routine maintenance, periodic overhaul and ad hoc repairs. To ensure the optimum convenience for customers, Flowonics offers a range of services from the supply of individual items/repairables as and when required through to scheduled delivery of complete kits-of-parts and associated consumables for a particular task. Where required Flowonics can also provide customers with trained and skilled staff to undertake all or part of a maintenance/overhaul/modification programme.

Spare items and components repaired and/or re-engineered by Flowonics include:

• Electronic toilet 'flush' valves for Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) systems
• Pneumatics and electric wiper motors
• Air filter assemblies and filter media for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems

• Weld repairs of plastic water tanks

Recent Contracts

The short selction of information regarding current and recent contracts completed by Flowonics provided below demonstrates the range of spares that Flowonics can supply and repairs that we can undertake. To find out more about any of the items, please follow the links.

	Flowonics is currently supporting the overhaul of tram bogies in Portugal, supplying complete kits of parts direct to the workshops where the overhaul is being carried out. The bogies come from Bombardier built 'EuroTram' vehicles being operated on the Porto tram network and the overhaul kits enable the work to be completed quickly and thus reducing the overall downtime for the vehicles. Flowonics has worked closely with the customer to ensure that all parts within the kit are packaged in the most effective manner and has developed re-usable packaging to reduce the volumes going into waste streams. 	Flowonics recently worked with Bombardier Transportation to resolve unreliability of toilets fitted to the Class 220 'Voyager' and Class 221 'Super Voyager' fleets. Having undertaken a full review of the toilet system, Flowonics identified one component as being the principle cause of the majority of the failures. Following a fundamental redesign of this component, Flowonics provided re-engineered components to allow both fleets to be modified. For more information please click here.
	Flowonics recently worked with Alstom Transportation to resolve a number of issues affecting Controlled Emission Toilets on Class 390 'Pendolino' units. Following introduction passengers regularly reported toilets as being defective and unpleasant smells on these trains. Having undertaken a full review of the toilet design, Flowonics identified a range of issues and produced new components to an enhanced design that provided an effective resolution to these issues.
